My story is simple (& certainly not unique): I tried out Korean skincare products about a year ago, and started with the internet-fav of the double cleanser (oil & foam) face wash by Anua.
And then I solidified my love for Korean skincare this spring when I spent a week in Seoul. I went through several products, testing out everything from face masks to serums and moisturizers.
If you’ve been to Seoul, you will have likely stepped into an Olive Green at least once, and you’ll know that the skincare options are endless. So when I was there, I spoke to a few store reps, asked what “the must-haves” were, and brought back a suitcase full. I tested those, narrowed down to the ones I’ve nearly emptied and will reorder again in this list (alongside a few other favorite finds).
These are my top, skin-changing products, ones you can get in South Korea or via our dear Amazon.
Anua Double Cleanser Duo for Facial Cleansing — this is 2 products, an oil cleanser which has been life-changing for clearing out pores, followed by a deep cleansing foam to emulsify out the oil. I swear by these two.
AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Ceramide Hydro Soothing Cream. GAMECHANGER. I tried the Lightweight option the first night of the trip, and I could not believe how buttery my skin was the next day. It’s one of the best face lotions I’ve used; it’s so approachable in price, too.
Tangle Angel Detangling Hair Brush - Anti-Static Tangle Taming Brush with Soft Bristles — I don’t understand why this brush is so good, but let’s just say I’ve switched my Mason Pearson out for it. It leaves your hair so soft and buttery.
Medicube Salmon DNA PDRN pink collagen jelly gel mask — I tried out several masks, this was one I loved the most for hydrating skin, I see a NOTICEABLE difference if my skin is at all dry.
[SKIN&LAB] Bakuchiol Rolling Eye Serum with Caffeine — made with a roller metal ball in it that is so cooling, this under-eye serum is my go-to at night.
[SKIN&LAB] Retinol Lifting Roller Cream with Massage applicator, Vegan Anti Aging Face and Neck Cream — One of the products I wish I could have started earlier. I use this 2-3x a week, it’s a gentle plant-based retinol, andI love how cooling the metal roller is.
Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice Facial Sebum Toner — a very gentle toner that cools and calms.
Torriden DIVE IN Hyaluronic Acid Serum — replaced my expensive hyaluronic acid serum for this, and never looked back…
JAPONESQUE Travel Eyelash Curler – the other favorite product was this small eyelash curler, which works better than anything I’ve used before.
